• President opened the meeting at 6:30PM
• Ms. Rosenberg gave a brief introduction of her qualifications to serve the District 10 neighborhoods.
• President asked for approval of the May, June and July meeting minutes
• Voted and the May, June and July meeting minutes were approved
• Treasure gave report
• Voted to accept the Treasures Report
• Association Manager gave update on correspondence
• President asked the VP to give an update on the street lights. SCANA has replaced all of street lights on Grand Oaks Blvd. None of the lights have been changed out along Ashley Garden. This has been done to eliminate the maintenance problem that SCANA are having with the existing lights at no cost to the Grand Oaks Association. The light luminaries will have approximately twice the lumens of 15,000 HPS lamp than the existing 7,200 MV lamp. This is a high end light fixture, same as what Wal-Mart has for their street lighting.
• VP to call landscaper to see if we can turn off the irrigation system for the perennials that were planted last year to replace the annuals. Landscaper to replace dead plants when the new plants arrive. We will not be turning off the irrigation system at this time. May reconsider next year if landscaper agrees.
• VP sent another email to the Meeting Street contact to resolve the sign issue, fence issue and the grass cutting issue resolved, by August meeting. The fence will remain as is and the fence signs removed. The grass was cut and trimmed and will be maintained per Meeting Street. The Meeting Street sign immediately opposite their office should be set back 50’ from the side walk. The Meeting Street sign at the junction of Ashley Garden Blvd and Grand Oaks needs to be removed.
• The removal of the Haddon Hall signs, one on Grand Oaks Blvd and the other at the junction of Ashley Garden Blvd and Grand Oaks.
• The City has been notified about the broken concrete side walks and the backfill needed along Ashley Garden Road. The City responded and said that the sidewalks were not bad enough to be replaced. I will ask for a face to face meeting with the City supervisor and review again in September.
• VP to call SCANA about adding one street light at the entrance of Grand Oaks to match the other entry sign. Also will inquire about adding additional street lights along the south stretch of Ashley Garden Drive from Grand Oaks Blvd to the City Park along the same side of the street to match the existing North side of Ashley Garden Drive.
• The next Board Meeting September 17, 2009 at 6:30PM @ the Treasure’s house
• Meeting Closed at 8:20PM
