From Barry Fidler: I received a phone
call from Christopher Morgan the acting
City Planner who called about an additional egress on to Bees
Ferry Road. Chris
told me that before the end of the year an additional egress
will be available to
us about 800-1000 feet south (to the right) of Grand Oaks Blvd.
That's the good news. (Date now revised to late 2008) The
bad news is that DOT will be moving the traffic light to that
location and they knew
all along that the light at Grand Oaks would be temporary
because it's too close
to the Walmart light in their estimation. It seems that
traffic lights are supposed
to be at least 1000 feet apart.
See Satelite view of location.
A new road is to be cut from the traffic
circle at the entrance to Hamilton Place
through to Bees Ferry Rd. This new road is expected
to be complete at the end
of 2006, (Now revised to late 2008) at which time the present traffic signals at
Grand Oaks Blvd and Bees
Ferry Rd will be moved to the new intersection.
Note: Stop at the white
line. If you drive past the white line you do not trip the
sensor and could sit there
for a long time waiting for the light to change.
